A fresh, fruity blend, with 50% of the wine comprised of Touriga Nacional, 30% of Touriga Franca and 20% of Syrah. Think of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca as Portugal's version of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc (please note: these Portuguese grapes bear no relation to the internationally recognized French grapes).
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and doesn't see any time in oak. So this is a hyper-pure expression of the varietals. Ripe dark cherry, blackberry, fresh strawberry, spice, fresh flowers and green vegetal notes are on the nose and on the palate too. Very juicy and intense with a finish that combines spice and ripe tannins. Medium-bodied.
This drinks beautifully with all kinds of grilled meats, mild curries, pastas and even some grilled seafoods like meaty octopus and tuna.
